COGAT
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT), given to students in grades 1 and 3, measures both general
and specific cognitive abilities in verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal areas. These results are
inpidually reported to parents.
MAP
Measure of Academic Progress measure students’ reading and mathematics achievement and
provides another indicator of student academic progress, along with monitoring the effectiveness
of the academic program.
KEYSTONE EXAMS
Keystone Exams are end-of-course assessments to determine proficiency in the subject
areas of Algebra I, Literature, and Biology. This assessment is one component of Pennsylvania's
high school graduation requirement. Students who fail to reach proficiency are provided the
opportunity to retake the exam.
