The Intervention Program is specifically designed for second and third grade students. The purpose of this program is to offer students additional instruction in reading. Students qualify for this extra assistance based on the results of district assessments and state assessments. The valuable instruction can provide an opportunity for growth in academic skills and improvement in self-esteem. It is a cooperative and collaborative approach with student, intervention teacher, classroom teacher, parents, and principal. It is designed to supplement, not replace, the regular curriculum.
