MAY Language Arts - We will be reading stories and poems, singing songs, and doing literacy activities with summer, beach and insect themes. We will also do an author study of Eric Carle. Word Wall Words and Handwriting –We meet the word all. Then, we will be reviewing all Word Wall Words and letters. Math – number writing and recognition to 30, calendar skills, graphing, 1:1 matching, addition and subtraction, measurement skills, time, and counting by 1’s, 5’s and 10’s. Note – students need to understand addition and subtraction and may use manipulatives; however, we are also focusing on moving away from the manipulatives to retrieving the answer quickly from memory when working with +/- to 5. Social Sciences – insects; summer safety; compare and contrast rock, soil, and sand |
